About Virginia Organizing

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.  ~Albert Pike

The Virginia Organizing (formerly known as Virginia Organizing Project or VOP) is a statewide, multi-issue organization committed to challenging injustice by empowering people in local communities to address issues that affect the quality of their lives. Virginia Organizing especially encourages the participation of those who have traditionally had little or no voice in our society. By building relationships with individuals and groups throughout the state, Virginia Organizing strives to get them to work together, democratically and non-violently, for change.

This blog is devoted to the South Hampton Roads Chapter of the Virginia Organizing. The purpose of this blog is to raise awareness and keep the public informed with how issues of social injustice progress in our community and what the Virginia Organizing is doing to address these issues.
